JOHN ESCORS

This presentation is a lyrical-poetic statement of what the landscape communicates.
The landscape is the gaze that contemplates it, land, countryside, sea passing through that prism that provokes the desire to portray it. That is landscape: nature seen through the prism of art.
I paint visceral landscapes that flow from an intimate and schematic vision of reality, where my pictorial proposal is an intuitive exercise of translating what the landscape wants to reveal to us.
In a contemporary style with strong abstract overtones and where colour fills the spaces portraying serenity and fragility alongside ferocity and turbulence.

"Juan captures in his works the sensory impression, symbolism and abstract expressionism. An intuitive and self-taught creator, his painting contains a pictorial avant-garde of enormous quality, with serene, fragile and subtle landscapes. In his creations, Juan Escors does not displace any genre. He paints exotic worlds, blurred so that nobody confuses them with the academicism of official paintings, because what they really represent are his impulses as a consummate artist.

Juan's coloured reality merges into a unique visual impression that shares the same light and movement of life, becoming a metaphor for the pictorial world of dreams.

In the work of Juan Escors various currents of painting converge, but above all an impressionist touch prevails that is capable of engulfing everything that surrounds it, the gaze of the beholder, and even the colours of the rainbow, the lost illusion, the necessary light and the warmth of colour.

After looking at his paintings, a phrase that the American painter Edward Hopper said about himself comes to mind: ".I may not be so human". Juan is. But with the unmistakable sign of a great artist".
