Marta Fermín 2019

Through different languages and media, with skill and technical ability, Marta Fermín presents us with a luminous exhibition that gives free rein to her deepest thoughts in an automatism that flows naturally. The environment that surrounds us, the social context that conditions us, the loss of awareness of our own nature and the work of art as a refuge where to reflect her emotions and feelings, become the main pretexts that motivate the creative act of the artist. Installations, ceramics, printmaking and painting are the main supports that she uses to her advantage in a relentless mastery of mixed techniques. In them, the presence of grey, blue or green colours coexist with strokes and lines that structure a final outcome on which she evolves without rest.

Painting and engraving

Hard-working and persistent are two of the many virtues that characterise Marta Fermín (Oviedo, 1973). This artist is today a benchmark in Asturian graphic art who combines her creative work with cultural promotion and management. Trained at the Oviedo School of Art, her specialisation in Art Editing and Printmaking techniques marked the starting point of a method that she has been perfecting in renowned national and international centres. An apprenticeship that, to this day, continues in the workshops he teaches in his own creative space where feedback with his students is the fundamental axis of a personal and artistic growth that is reflected in all the results. Prizes, grants, individual and collective exhibitions, fairs and the presence of her work in important world collections endorse a work that is consolidated in a trajectory that leaves its mark.Marta is an artist who comes from the north, from our Asturian land Her work covers many techniques, although she is a specialist in engraving and printing. The exhibition she is presenting at Tambor del Llano includes a varied sample of works that reflect her most recent trajectory.
